https://www.metmuseum.org/cloisterslibraryThis tour will provide a behind the scenes history of The Cloisters, the branch of the Metropolitan Museum dedicated to the art, architecture, and gardens of medieval Europe. Overlooking the Hudson River in northern Manhattan's Fort Tryon Park, the museum features more than 2,000 exceptional artworks and architectural elements from the Middle Ages. Using material from the library and The Cloisters extensive archival collections, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the founding and creation of this unique place.
After the tour, visitors are invited to enjoy free admission to the museum.
Directions: Meet the Tour Wrangler at the designated meeting point near the Registration Desk, Promenade West, on the Hilton Hotel's second floor at 9:00 AM to travel together by subway. Tour participants are required to buy a loaded Metrocard in advance of the tour, so that the tour can remain on schedule. Round-trip travel will cost $5.50.
