Catherine Larkin

Long Island University
Associate Professor, Head, Digital Initiatives
B. Davis Schwartz Memorial Library
I received my Ph.D. from the Palmer School of Library and Information Science, College of Information and Computer Science, Long Island University (LIU), Brookville, New York. My dissertation research focused on the information-seeking behaviors and processes of visual arts humanities scholars. I have an MA in Art History with a concentration in medieval art from the City University of New York, Queens College, and a BA in Art History from LIU where I served as Visual Resources Curator and adjunct professor of Art History from 1993 to 2003. In September 2003, I was appointed to the faculty as Digital Initiatives Librarian. In that role, I work on collaborative digital projects, teach in the Art History Program, and present, publish and provide provenance research assistance to patrons regarding art objects recorded in the William Randolph Hearst Archive at LIU.
